Democrat Rep. Laura Friedman Admits Weekly Meetings with Far-Left AGs to Coordinate Lawfare Against Trump Agenda

In a stunning public admission, California Democrat Rep. Laura Friedman has revealed that House Democrats are coordinating weekly with far-left state attorneys general to develop legal strategies targeting former President Donald Trump, his allies, and the America First movement.

Speaking to constituents during a public event, Friedman boasted about the existence of what she called a “litigation working group” — a de facto shadow government consisting of approximately 75 sitting members of Congress who meet behind closed doors with state-level prosecutors to shape coordinated legal attacks.

“Every single week, we have a litigation working group where a large group of us—and I’m talking maybe 75 members of the House—sit down with the AGs to talk about legal strategy,” Friedman said, acknowledging the behind-the-scenes efforts that have flown under the public radar.

She added that the activity is “nonstop,” describing an aggressive internal campaign involving social media messaging, legislation drafting, and legal coordination — all allegedly designed to undermine President Trump’s policies and political viability.

Behind the Curtain: Weaponizing the Legal System?

This admission sheds light on what critics call “lawfare” — the weaponization of the justice system for political ends. Over the last several years, numerous state attorneys general, particularly from blue states like New York, California, and Massachusetts, have launched investigations, lawsuits, and prosecutions aimed directly at Trump and his allies.

What Friedman’s comments suggest is that these actions may not be independent at all, but centrally coordinated by federal lawmakers in a strategic war room.

“This is not democracy—it’s collusion,” said one Republican staffer on Capitol Hill. “This is a party that cries about norms and institutions while actively conspiring to manipulate both behind closed doors.”

Taxpayer-Funded Political Warfare?

Beyond the political implications, Friedman’s remarks raise serious ethical and legal concerns regarding the use of taxpayer resources for partisan legal operations. If sitting members of Congress are collaborating with state prosecutors for the sole purpose of targeting political rivals, it could constitute a grave abuse of office and public funds.

Calls are already growing among Republican lawmakers for a congressional investigation into the group.

“This isn’t a ‘working group.’ It’s a partisan war room operating under the guise of public service,” said Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN). “It’s time we subpoena every communication between these House members and state AGs and expose this for what it is: an illegal effort to overturn the political will of American voters.”

A Broader Pattern?

Friedman’s confession comes amid a broader pattern of Democrat-led legal actions against Trump. These include:

  • New York AG Letitia James’s lawsuit against the Trump Organization
  • Georgia DA Fani Willis’s criminal case over election interference
  • Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of alleged campaign finance violations
  • Civil litigation driven by Democrat-aligned nonprofits and law firms

Each of these actions has been criticized as politically motivated, but Friedman’s remarks may offer the first concrete evidence of centralized coordination — potentially undermining their legal legitimacy.

The Path Forward: Transparency and Accountability

Republicans are now demanding that the House Judiciary Committee and Oversight Committee launch formal inquiries into the “litigation working group,” including:

  • A list of members participating in the weekly meetings
  • Names of state attorneys general involved
  • Legal strategies discussed
  • Public funds allocated for staffing, communications, or legal counsel

This latest revelation confirms what many Americans already suspected: the system is being rigged from within, and powerful political actors are using the courts to wage war on their opponents.

The American people deserve answers — and accountability.
