Forgotten Under Biden, Delivered by Trump: Edan Alexander Returns Home from Hamas Captivity
Another American hostage has been brought home—not by the failed diplomacy of the Biden-Harris regime, but by the decisive leadership of President Donald J. Trump.
Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old American-Israeli soldier from Tenafly, New Jersey, was released Sunday by Hamas terrorists after more than seven months in captivity. Abducted during the October 7, 2023 massacre, Alexander was one of the last known U.S. citizens still alive in Gaza, left abandoned as the previous administration dragged its feet.
But under President Trump’s renewed leadership, action replaced apathy.
Alexander was handed over to the Red Cross, transferred safely to Israeli special forces, and is now on Israeli soil, reuniting with his grateful family. The release was orchestrated with key assistance from U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, a Trump appointee leading high-level negotiations to free American hostages worldwide.
In an emotional tribute, Edan’s grandmother Varda Ben Baruch thanked President Trump for doing what others wouldn’t:
“Trump made all the efforts and he is a good messenger of the Holy One, blessed be He.”
She added, “Thank God that the government cared about him.”
This marks yet another in a growing list of American citizens rescued since Trump returned to the White House in January—nearly 50 in total—as the administration rebuilds American strength abroad and restores its global influence.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Alexander may meet with President Trump in Qatar, if his health permits—a symbolic reunion between a freed patriot and the president who never forgot him.
Once again, President Trump proves what leadership looks like: protecting American lives, confronting evil, and never surrendering to terror.
Under Biden, Edan was a bargaining chip. Under Trump, he’s finally home.
