USC Begins Scrubbing DEI Language as Trump’s Executive Order Reshapes Higher Education
The University of Southern California (USC) is now actively reviewing and removing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) language from its programs, marking a significant shift in higher education following President Donald Trump’s executive order abolishing DEI in federally funded institutions.
According to Campus Reform, USC announced:
“We are conducting this review to clarify the intent of our programs and practices, strengthen their effectiveness, and ensure alignment with our compliance obligations in light of recent executive orders and agency guidance.”
The End of DEI at USC?
This move signals a major impact from Trump’s efforts to eliminate race-based hiring and admissions practices, with liberal universities now forced to comply or risk losing federal funding.
As reported by The Los Angeles Times, USC will no longer maintain a standalone DEI office, a crucial first step toward eradicating identity politics from academia.
A Nationwide Trend?
While USC is taking steps in the right direction, many universities continue to resist change. However, some institutions are already beginning to remove DEI content:
🔹 The University of Michigan’s Nursing School has deleted its DEI page and removed its DEI statement.
🔹 Columbia University and Northeastern University have scrubbed DEI references from their websites.
🔹 The University of Cincinnati has announced that it is eliminating all DEI initiatives in order to continue receiving federal funding.
Trump Administration Cuts DEI Grants
On February 17, the U.S. Department of Education slashed over $600 million in grants that previously funded divisive ideologies, including:
✅ Critical Race Theory
✅ Social Justice Activism
✅ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs
With federal funding now tied to compliance, universities face a clear choice: abandon DEI or lose access to taxpayer money.
The Days of DEI Above Merit Are Over
As President Trump reasserts merit-based policies over identity-based hiring and admissions, the leftist grip on higher education is crumbling.
For those institutions still resisting? It may only be a matter of time before they are forced to follow suit—or face financial consequences.
The days of DEI dictating hiring and academic standards over qualifications are over—this is no longer Biden’s America.
