In anticipation of America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, the White House has officially launched a sweeping new initiative celebrating the nation’s founding and legacy. On Friday, April 18, the administration released the first two episodes of a new educational video series titled “The Story of America”—marking the beginning of what President Donald J. Trump has called “the most important milestone in our country’s history.”

A Bold Tribute to America’s Founding

The debut videos, “The Story of America, an Introduction” and “The Shot Heard Round the World: The Battles of Lexington and Concord,” are narrated by professors from Hillsdale College, the highly respected conservative Christian university renowned for its focus on the U.S. Constitution and classical education.

The series promises to highlight pivotal moments in American history and rekindle patriotic spirit across the country. The content is available on newly created White House website subpages titled “Founding Fathers,” “Video Library,” and “America 250.”

  • The “Founding Fathers” section offers in-depth historical profiles of seven key figures who shaped the republic.

  • The “Video Library” showcases the new historical series alongside notable highlights from Trump’s second term.

  • The “America 250” page serves as the campaign’s central hub, beneath a patriotic banner featuring President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump beneath a Fourth of July fireworks display.

“With a single sheet of parchment and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history,” President Trump declared in his anniversary message.

A Celebration Like No Other

Under President Trump’s directive, the Salute to America 250 Task Force, known as Task Force 250, has been activated to coordinate a full calendar of events set to begin Memorial Day 2025 and culminate in a historic celebration on July 4, 2026.

The White House is urging participation from every sector—federal, state, local, private, nonprofit, and individual citizens—in what is being billed as the most inclusive and unifying celebration in American history.

“Task Force 250 invites citizens to have a renewed love of American history, experience the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation,” the initiative’s mission statement reads.

History, Heritage, and the Trump Legacy

In partnership with Hillsdale College, the White House is making American history accessible to millions—offering a scholarly but patriotic retelling of the nation’s origins, from the Declaration of Independence to the formation of the republic and beyond.

“This is our shared heritage and our proud destiny that will continue to lead us to unimaginable achievements in the centuries to come,” reads the Task Force 250 declaration.

With more episodes of “The Story of America” to follow, President Trump’s vision is clear: not only to honor the past, but to inspire a bold American future grounded in liberty, courage, and greatness.

From fireworks and festivities to civic renewal and historical education, America’s 250th anniversary under President Trump’s leadership is shaping up to be a celebration for the ages—a moment of unity, pride, and purpose for every citizen of the greatest nation on Earth
