AOC Unleashes Tirade Defending Democrats Who Stormed ICE Facility, Threatens Law Enforcement with Retaliation
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is once again under fire after delivering a heated and unhinged tirade over the arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who was taken into custody for storming a federal immigration facility alongside three New Jersey Democrat Congressmembers.
During a fiery Instagram rant, AOC threatened federal law enforcement—including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and ICE agents—declaring that if Congressmembers are arrested for trespassing, “we’re going to have a problem.”
“You lay a finger on [them], we’re going to have a problem,” she warned, while accusing ICE of being “unaccountable” and “treasonous.”
What Actually Happened
On Friday, bodycam footage from the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark confirmed that Rep. LaMonica McIver verbally and physically assaulted ICE agents during an unauthorized breach of the facility. She was joined by Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez, all of whom were allegedly trying to force the release of criminal aliens—many with violent records.
These elected officials were not denied access, but refused to follow standard federal protocol for oversight visits. Instead, they attempted to barge in, leading to a tense confrontation and the arrest of far-left demonstrators who refused to leave federal property.
AOC’s Defense: Lawbreaking in the Name of “Oversight”
Rather than condemning this unlawful behavior, AOC doubled down. In a breathless, conspiracy-laced rant, she claimed that it was DHS, not her fellow Democrats, who were breaking the law—accusing ICE of acting like a “paramilitary force” and attacking their use of face masks and concealed IDs as “cowardly.”
“The people who are breaking the law are not members of Congress,” she claimed, “It’s DHS and ICE.”
She even accused DHS Secretary Kristi Noem of “spitting on the American flag”, labeling enforcement of federal law as “treasonous” and warning again that there would be “hell to pay” if any Democrat lawmaker is prosecuted.
Rule of Law—or Rule of AOC?
The idea that members of Congress are above the law simply because they declare “oversight” is not only false—it’s dangerous. No elected official has the right to storm a federal facility, assault officers, or interfere with federal detention operations, regardless of their political agenda.
As one law enforcement official put it, “Oversight does not mean obstruction. And immunity does not mean impunity.”
While the Biden-Harris orbit continues to defend criminal behavior under the guise of activism, Americans are watching a disturbing trend unfold: violence, intimidation, and racialized double standards being excused when convenient.
Bottom Line
AOC’s reckless rhetoric is more than a rant—it’s a threat to the rule of law. When elected officials storm facilities, assault federal officers, and then threaten retaliation if held accountable, we are no longer dealing with political opposition. We are witnessing insurrection from within.
It’s time to enforce the law equally—for ICE agents, for protestors, and yes, even for members of Congress.
