In a seismic move shaking the legal and immigration landscape, the FBI—under the leadership of Director Kash Patel—has arrested Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah C. Dugan on federal obstruction charges after she allegedly helped an illegal alien evade arrest by ICE agents inside the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
Judge Dugan Caught Aiding Fugitive Illegal Alien
As first reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, federal investigators had been quietly probing Judge Dugan’s actions after an ICE enforcement team attempted to apprehend Eduardo Flores Ruiz, an illegal alien with an active warrant, during a scheduled court appearance on April 18.
Rather than complying with the law, authorities now say Judge Dugan intentionally misled ICE agents, helping the fugitive escape and forcing agents to pursue him on foot—a dangerous maneuver that could have endangered the public.
“Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction,” FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed in a post on X.
“We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents… allowing the subject to evade arrest.”
Ruiz was ultimately apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and remains in federal custody.
A Pattern of Judicial Obstruction?
This is the second high-profile arrest of a judge within the past 24 hours. As The Gateway Pundit earlier reported, former New Mexico Magistrate Judge Juan Cano and his wife Nancy Cano were also taken into custody for allegedly harboring a known illegal alien with links to the Tren de Aragua—a violent Venezuelan gang involved in human trafficking, extortion, and murder.
That illegal alien, Cristhian Ortega Lopez, was arrested at Cano’s home and is now charged with unlawful firearm possession and gang affiliation. The arrest came just weeks after Cano abruptly resigned from his judicial post, sending shockwaves through the New Mexico legal community.
Kash Patel’s FBI Cracks Down
Under Patel, the FBI is taking a no-tolerance approach to activist judges who obstruct federal law—particularly those undermining immigration enforcement operations.
“The Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public,” Patel noted, emphasizing that even those in robes are not above the law.
This represents a dramatic shift in federal law enforcement posture, as the Trump administration’s second term doubles down on restoring law and order in sanctuary jurisdictions.
Legal Consequences Loom
Judge Dugan now faces federal charges that could include obstruction of justice, aiding and abetting, and interference with a federal officer—serious felonies that carry stiff penalties, including prison time.
She has been temporarily suspended from the bench, and additional disciplinary action from Wisconsin’s Judicial Commission is expected in the coming days.
