Clueless Democrat Pushing Trump Impeachment Doesn’t Even Know His Own District’s Geography

Rep. Shri Thanedar’s Impeachment Circus Falls Flat as Constituents Catch Him Clueless

Embarrassing Gaffe Exposes Detachment from His Own District

Michigan Democrat Congressman Shri Thanedar found himself in hot water this week—not for the seven impeachment articles he filed against President Donald Trump, but for a far more basic failure: not knowing his own district.

In a stunning moment caught on video, Thanedar was asked about the Grosse Pointes, a wealthy cluster of communities that his website proudly claims are part of his 13th Congressional District. His response? Silence, confusion, and a clear lack of familiarity with the very constituents he’s supposed to represent.

“Congressman Shri Thanedar proudly represents Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, which includes Detroit, Downriver, and the Grosse Pointes,” reads his official bio.
But when asked to speak about the Grosse Pointes? He couldn’t answer.

A National Stage, A Local Disgrace

This latest incident comes on the heels of Thanedar’s increasingly bizarre political theater. Last week, he filed seven articles of impeachment against President Trump—none of which gained traction, even within his own party.

Even worse, his so-called “Impeachment Town Hall” was a complete disaster. Hosted in Lincoln Park, the event attracted only 27 attendees, with one local reporter joking it had “less excitement than an AA meeting.”

Despite the underwhelming turnout, Thanedar forged ahead with allegations ranging from “abuse of trade powers” to “tyrannical overreach.” His filings accuse Trump of:

  • Obstruction of justice and abuse of executive power
  • Unlawful deportations and retaliation against critics
  • Creation of unconstitutional offices (including one involving Elon Musk)
  • Soliciting bribes and consolidating presidential power

The absurdity of some of the charges drew bipartisan mockery, and Thanedar ultimately missed the procedural window to call for a vote on his resolution—leaving the entire effort dead on arrival.

The Optics: Desperate Stunts Over Real Service

For a congressman elected to represent communities grappling with real issues—crime, infrastructure, education—Thanedar’s obsession with political theatrics has alienated voters across the spectrum.

His district includes some of the most economically diverse areas in Michigan: from blue-collar Downriver suburbs to urban centers in Detroit to the wealthier Grosse Pointes. That makes his ignorance of one-third of his district even more egregious.

Instead of building bridges or addressing economic concerns, Thanedar has focused on partisan posturing, symbolic resolutions, and politically motivated grandstanding.

Conclusion: Know Your District Before You Try to Rule the Nation

Rep. Shri Thanedar’s latest flop reveals a simple but serious problem: he’s more interested in impeaching a president than representing the people who actually elected him.

His failed impeachment effort may have made headlines, but it’s his inability to recognize his own district that may haunt him in the next election.

As voters continue to scrutinize performance over political theater, Thanedar might soon learn that in Michigan—authenticity matters more than antics.
