Brewer Calls Lawsuit “Embarrassing,” Says Ellison Putting Politics Over Protection of Women Athletes

Former NFL player and University of Minnesota standout Jack Brewer is sounding off on Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison for what he describes as a “devastating” betrayal of women’s sports. The backlash comes after Ellison filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for enforcing a ban on biological males participating in girls’ and women’s athletics.

President Trump signed the executive order in February, aiming to safeguard Title IX protections by withholding federal funding from states that allow male athletes to compete in female categories. Ellison quickly responded with a legal challenge in April, accusing the administration of “shameful bullying.”

But Brewer isn’t having it.

H2: “He’s Never Stepped Foot in a Real Locker Room”

“Clearly, Keith Ellison, the attorney general of Minnesota, has never played any major sports,” Brewer told Fox News. “It’s like he’s never stepped foot in a real locker room, especially not one where the sport demanded true athleticism, grit, and toughness.”

He called Ellison’s lawsuit “embarrassing,” particularly coming from a fellow Black man.

H2: Title IX Betrayal and Physical Danger

Brewer argued that Minnesota — once a national leader on women’s rights and Title IX — is now actively destroying what it once championed.

“It’s promoting situations where men are physically dominating women. It’s heartbreaking for any former Gopher, any former Viking, any professional athlete who’s lived in that great city. It’s embarrassing. It’s shocking. And, to be honest, it’s just devastating.”

Brewer went further, pointing out the obvious physical risks:
“In any sport — especially something like softball — people can get seriously hurt. A man hits the ball harder. A man throws the ball faster. The idea of allowing men to compete in women’s softball is insane.”

H2: “They Don’t Care About the Girls — Only Power”

Brewer didn’t mince words, accusing Ellison and his allies of placing politics above protection.

“They care about fundraising and staying in power, and they’re doing it at the expense of young athletes all across America.”

H2: White House Slams Ellison’s Lawsuit as “Creepy and Anti-Woman”

The Trump administration responded to the Minnesota lawsuit through White House spokesperson Harrison Fields, who delivered a blunt statement:

“Why would a grown man sue the Trump administration to allow other biological males to participate in women’s sports? This is creepy and anti-woman.”

The clash between athletic integrity and political ideology is intensifying — and for Jack Brewer and millions of others, the line is clear: keep women’s sports for women.
