Gavin Newsom Sues President Trump While Los Angeles Descends Into Chaos

As violent mobs continue to terrorize Los Angeles, torching vehicles, attacking law enforcement, and turning the city into a war zone, California Governor Gavin Newsom has finally decided to act—not against the criminals, but against the president working to restore order.

Instead of condemning the rioters or backing law enforcement, Newsom announced a lawsuit against President Trump on Monday morning, accusing the president of “illegally federalizing the National Guard” in response to the escalating violence.

“This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted,” Newsom wrote on X. “He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard.”

A State on Fire, a Governor in Denial

The riots began Friday after ICE agents launched targeted operations in downtown Los Angeles. Pro-Palestinian agitators, illegal alien groups, and radical leftist activists responded with unhinged fury:

  • Police officers were pelted with fireworks and bricks

  • Cars were set ablaze

  • Federal buildings and property were destroyed

  • Mounted officers were assaulted

  • The violence extended across the weekend and into Monday

Yet Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass refused to mobilize state resources. It took President Trump stepping in to deploy the National Guard and protect federal agents and infrastructure from total collapse.

Lawsuit Over Law Enforcement

Rather than expressing gratitude or taking accountability, Newsom’s lawsuit paints the Trump administration as the villain, alleging the president is seizing authoritarian control over state security.

But observers note that the order Trump signed only came after California’s leaders failed to act amid clear and present danger. Furthermore, invoking the Insurrection Act is within the constitutional authority of the president when domestic unrest spirals beyond local control.

Mocking Federal Law Enforcement

The most shocking moment came when Newsom taunted Border Czar Tom Homan during an interview from LAPD headquarters.

“Tom, arrest me, let’s go, let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” Newsom said sarcastically.

It was a stunning show of political theater—mocking a federal official while the streets of his state’s largest city burn.

Final Thoughts: Priorities Revealed

Governor Newsom had every opportunity to stop the madness. Instead, he sided with the agitators, mocked federal law enforcement, and blamed Trump for doing what he refused to do: protect American citizens.

Comment:
Only in Gavin Newsom’s California can you light a city on fire and sue the president for trying to put it out. This isn’t leadership—it’s obstruction in the face of insurrection.
