German President Uses V-E Day to Attack the USA — Smears Trump and America’s Values on 80th Anniversary of Nazi Defeat

German President Steinmeier Slams the U.S. on Sacred Anniversary — Claims America Has “Broken with Our Values”

In a tone-deaf and deeply offensive speech on the 80th anniversary of V-E Day—the historic Allied victory over Nazi Germany—German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier took the stage not to honor the liberators, but to launch a stunning attack on the United States, smearing America’s current direction under President Trump and conservative leadership.

Speaking to the Bundestag, Steinmeier accused the U.S.—the very nation that liberated his country from Hitler’s tyranny—of “turning its back” on democracy and breaking with global values.

“Even the United States, who did so much to shape this order, is turning its back on it… The liberators of Auschwitz have become new aggressors,” Steinmeier declared in a speech dripping with arrogance and revisionism.

Coordinated Smears as German Government Backtracks on AfD Spying

The timing of Steinmeier’s verbal assault is no coincidence. It comes just hours before newly-elected Chancellor Friedrich Merz is set to speak with Donald Trump, and just one day after Germany’s intelligence services were forced to walk back their unconstitutional surveillance of the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

Steinmeier, a longtime critic of Trump and America-first populism, has repeatedly weaponized his ceremonial post to interfere in political discourse—often attacking both domestic opposition and foreign allies.

This latest tirade includes direct jabs at:

  • Trump-era judicial reforms

  • Academic freedom debates

  • Criticism of globalist institutions like the UN

  • The resurgence of nationalism in both America and Germany

The Irony: The Liberators Now Lectured by the Liberated

It’s impossible to ignore the irony. On a day meant to honor the sacrifice of American troops who liberated Europe, the President of Germany used his platform to condemn the very nation that saved his own from fascism.

And he did so while claiming Trump’s America poses a greater threat than the same globalist institutions that oversaw two decades of war in Ukraine, mass migration chaos in Europe, and censorship at home.

Steinmeier’s record? Let’s not forget:

  • He refused to congratulate Trump in 2016, calling him a “hate preacher.”

  • He supported the 2014 Maidan coup in Ukraine, leading to 11 years of war and destruction in Donbass.

  • He regularly attacks Germany’s AfD party, even though his role is supposed to be non-partisan and ceremonial.

Bottom Line: V-E Day Deserves Honor, Not Globalist Propaganda

Steinmeier’s disgusting attack on America and Donald Trump is a betrayal of the very moment he was supposed to commemorate.

This wasn’t a speech—it was a globalist manifesto disguised as moral outrage.

Instead of thanking the Allies, Germany’s president chose to spit on their memory to score political points. This is the new Germany under Merz and Steinmeier: Anti-American, anti-populist, and pro-censorship.

President Trump will respond—and this time, America will remember who stood by us, and who didn’t.
