DOJ Unleashes Full Force After Tesla Cybertruck Firebombing in Arizona

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a blunt and powerful warning Tuesday as federal charges were announced against Ian Moses, the man accused of setting fire to a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck and vandalizing a Tesla dealership in Mesa, Arizona in the early hours of April 28.

Moses, 35, was arrested after an explosion and subsequent fire engulfed the newly delivered Cybertruck outside the dealership. Surveillance footage and eyewitness reports confirmed the suspect also sprayed anti-Tesla graffiti on the property before fleeing the scene.

Pam Bondi: “No Negotiating with Domestic Terrorists”

In a fiery press statement, Bondi made the DOJ’s position unmistakably clear:

“If you engage in domestic terrorism, this Department of Justice will find you, follow the facts, and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law,” she said. “No negotiating.

Bondi labeled the attack as a clear act of domestic terrorism, warning that political violence, property destruction, and tech-targeted sabotage will be met with swift federal action.

What Happened?

According to Mesa police, officers responded around 2:00 a.m. on April 28 to reports of smoke, flames, and an explosion at a Tesla dealership near Sossaman Road and Southern Avenue. When crews arrived, they discovered the Cybertruck fully engulfed outside the building.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it reached the interior of the dealership. The suspect had already fled but was quickly identified, located, and arrested thanks to rapid cooperation between local police and federal investigators.

Charges and Fallout

Moses now faces a range of federal charges, which may include:

  • Arson of a vehicle in interstate commerce

  • Use of fire to commit a federal felony

  • Destruction of property

  • Domestic terrorism enhancements

Federal authorities are also investigating potential ideological motives, with sources indicating the graffiti left behind contained anti-capitalist and anti-tech sentiments.

Tesla, Targeted Again

This isn’t the first time Elon Musk’s companies have faced threats from radical activists, but Bondi made it clear: those days are over.

“We are sending a message. You attack innovation, infrastructure, or American industry—you will face consequences.”

As the Cybertruck becomes a symbol of American manufacturing resurgence, its attackers are becoming symbols of extremist desperation.

And now, thanks to Bondi’s no-nonsense approach, justice is charging full speed ahead.
