In a shocking and tragic development, actor Jonathan Joss, widely known for voicing John Redcorn in the long-running animated series King of the Hill, was shot to death Sunday night during an argument with a neighbor in San Antonio, Texas.
A Heated Argument Turns Fatal
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the fatal incident unfolded during a confrontation at a residence on the city’s south side. Joss and his neighbor, later identified as Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega, reportedly got into a heated verbal exchange that escalated into gunfire. Witnesses say Alvarez-Cega pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds into Joss before fleeing the scene.
First responders arrived quickly, but despite efforts to save him, Jonathan Joss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Police were able to apprehend the suspect just a block away from the residence shortly after the shooting. Alvarez-Cega was arrested without incident and has been charged with murder. His bond was set at $200,000, and he is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
