Mike Lindell Weighs 2026 Bid Against Tim Walz, Hints at Major Political Shift
MyPillow CEO and conservative activist Mike Lindell has confirmed he is actively considering a run for governor of Minnesota in 2026, directly challenging incumbent Democrat Tim Walz. In a recent interview and appearance on Lindell TV, Lindell stated he is conducting polling and due diligence before officially launching a campaign.
“This isn’t just about me talking on Lindell TV anymore,” said Lindell. “The world is waking up to the lies Walz has told, and I think Minnesota is ready for a massive change.”
Citing Unpopularity of Walz Across Party Lines
Lindell, a Minnesota native, expressed strong confidence in voter discontent across the political spectrum. “Even Democrats don’t want Walz anymore,” Lindell said. “I’m hearing it everywhere I go — people are tired of the nonsense.”
Walz, who has served as governor since 2019 and is eligible for a third term, has not officially declared reelection plans but is widely expected to run. Lindell insists Walz’s handling of state affairs, especially during the pandemic, has left voters disillusioned.
June Polling and Dominion Trial Could Be Turning Points
Lindell revealed that internal polling data is expected in early June and will significantly influence his decision. He emphasized that his platform is deeply tied to election integrity and eliminating electronic voting machines — a stance central to his political activism since the 2020 election.
Currently, Lindell is in Colorado preparing for a high-stakes defamation trial brought by former Dominion Voting Systems executive Eric Coomer. “This is the trial that’s going to change everything,” Lindell declared. “It’s going to open the door to finally getting rid of the machines.”
Lindell plans to hold a press conference at the federal courthouse in Colorado on June 2, coinciding with the trial’s opening day.
From “Never Again” to “Now I’ll Run”
Lindell previously declined to run for governor in 2022, stating he wouldn’t “run to be a dog catcher until the machines are gone.” Now, he says the landscape has shifted. “I believe within a year we’ll be back to paper ballots and hand counting. That’s the path forward.”
