A Familiar Script: Political Elites Search for a New Martyr
Five years after the death of George Floyd and the explosion of politically weaponized unrest that followed, a new effort appears to be underway—this time, aimed at elevating an MS-13-linked Salvadoran national as a symbolic victim for political gain.
His name: Kilmar Abrego García. His rap sheet: human trafficking suspicions, domestic violence, and gang affiliation. Yet top Democrats are now fighting for his return to the U.S.—despite his deportation, criminal history, and lack of legal status.
The George Floyd Playbook, Revisited
The summer of 2020 was not simply a response to one man’s death—it was an orchestrated movement. George Floyd became a rallying symbol not because of moral virtue, but because his death was politically convenient. It was an election year. Donald Trump was leading, and corporate media, political activists, and Democrats needed a flashpoint.
Cue nationwide riots.
Cue media sanctification of a violent felon.
Cue kneeling politicians and gold caskets on live TV.
Truth was buried alongside rule of law. Floyd’s history—armed robbery, drug abuse, violent crime—was erased in favor of narrative. And now, that same template is being reloaded, with Kilmar Abrego García cast as the next “victim.”
Kilmar Abrego: The Facts Democrats Don’t Want to Talk About
According to verified police records and media reports:
-
Kilmar is a known MS-13 member with gang tattoos and a documented history in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
-
In 2019, his wife filed multiple domestic violence reports and testified that Kilmar threatened to kill her.
-
In 2022, he was stopped transporting eight undocumented passengers under highly suspicious circumstances. Police suspected human trafficking but issued a mere warning.
-
Kilmar has no legal right to be in the United States, yet Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen flew to El Salvador in April 2025 to demand his release and return. Four more congressional Democrats followed days later.
At a meeting in a Salvadoran restaurant, they toasted margaritas with Kilmar, who appeared clean, well-dressed, and unbothered—hardly the image of a political prisoner.
The Weaponization of Ethnicity
This is not a defense of Hispanic heritage—it’s an exploitation of it. Just as Black communities were manipulated during the George Floyd riots, Hispanic communities are now being used in a cynical attempt to provoke outrage, manufacture victimhood, and reshape the political battlefield ahead of 2026.
But this time, we are speaking up.
Kilmar Abrego does not represent Hispanic values. He does not speak for our families, our faith, or our pursuit of the American dream. He represents the worst of what politicians are willing to embrace when it suits their agenda.
We Say No: Hispanics Reject Political Martyrdom of Criminals
Let it be known:
-
We don’t want another George Floyd.
-
We don’t want a Hispanic version of George Floyd.
-
We reject the elevation of violent criminals as role models.
Our communities demand integrity, not ideological theater. Our children deserve safety, not gang culture paraded as identity politics. And our votes are not for sale to the highest narrative bidder.
Final Word to Politicians
Stop the lies.
Stop the manipulation.
Stop using our communities as pawns in your power games.
The Hispanic community is awake. And we will not kneel for criminals.
