Pope Leo’s MAGA-Aligned Brother Says He’s “Not Woke,” Predicts New Pontiff Will Lead From the Center

In a revealing appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Louis Prevost, brother of newly elected Pope Leo XIV, offered insight into the new pope’s likely leadership style—describing him as a centrist who values balance, tradition, and theological integrity over political posturing.

Not Right, Not Left — But Firmly in the Middle

When asked if Pope Leo XIV would follow in the progressive footsteps of Pope Francis, Louis Prevost pushed back, insisting his brother is not ideologically driven.

“He’s not left. He’s not right,” said Prevost. “He looks at the whole scene, takes information from both sides, and somehow finds a way to go down the middle and not ruffle too many feathers.”

Prevost emphasized the pope’s deep commitment to canon law, describing him as a scholar of theology and church tradition. “He’s a big believer in canon law, which is basically how the Church behaves. I don’t see him tightening anything beyond what Francis did, but he’ll maintain it.”

Is Pope Leo “Woke”? Not According to His Brother

Piers Morgan pressed further, asking whether Pope Leo could be described as “woke.” Louis laughed off the question.

“I don’t know that I’d go that far. He’s probably more liberal than I am, but that’s his role as a priest. He’s not political in the way people think.”

This stands in contrast to Louis Prevost himself, whose unapologetically conservative views recently surfaced online. A vocal supporter of President Trump, Prevost has openly criticized the Democratic Party on social media.

“Obama and the Democrats. They suck,” he wrote in a fiery Facebook post. “They’re one step from being full-blown communists, longing for the destruction of our way of life.”

While Prevost’s rhetoric is far removed from the Vatican’s tone, his insights into his brother’s temperament suggest a papacy focused more on stability and theological continuity than ideological crusades.

A New Path Forward

Despite speculation that Pope Leo might shift sharply left or right, his brother’s remarks signal a pope aiming for unity within a deeply divided global church.

As the world watches how Pope Leo XIV navigates moral, social, and doctrinal challenges, it may be that governing “down the middle” is not just a political strategy—but a pastoral one.
