Explosive Allegations Surface as White House Pardons Face Renewed Scrutiny
Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett has leveled a stunning accusation against the Biden administration, alleging that White House staffers used an autopen device to rubber-stamp presidential pardons in exchange for financial kickbacks — a potential “cash-for-clemency” scheme that could shake the foundations of Biden’s final days in office.
In an interview on The Benny Johnson Show Tuesday, Burchett said he believes individuals within the administration exploited President Biden’s diminished mental state to authorize fraudulent pardons using autopen technology, a mechanical device that replicates a person’s signature.
“You’re gonna find staffers that were able to take forms, get them and run them through some sort of bogus legal system, then they auto-penned them,” Burchett warned.

Drawing a parallel to Tennessee’s infamous Ray Blanton pardon scandal from the 1970s — where the former governor was caught selling clemency — Burchett emphasized the likelihood of financial incentives, speculating that staffers making $100K salaries could have been offered “a quarter of a mil” to quietly process a pardon.
“There’s people out on the street that shouldn’t be,” Burchett said. “But somebody got rich off that.”
While the congressman admitted he has no direct proof yet, he framed the issue as a major national security risk and warned of deadly political retaliation:
“This is a very dangerous town to play games in.”

Concerns about autopen use surged in March after President Trump declared that a series of controversial Biden-era pardons — including for Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, Hunter Biden, and even members of the January 6 Committee — were “void” due to being signed by machine, not the president himself.
This has fueled speculation that staffers may have bypassed Biden entirely, exploiting his alleged cognitive decline to issue pardons without oversight — potentially for profit.
Trump Reacts: “This Is TREASON at the Highest Level”
President Trump, in a blistering Truth Social post Tuesday, responded to the growing scandal by calling the use of Biden’s autopen without his knowledge “treason at the highest level.”
“They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger… This is TREASON!” Trump wrote.
“These Treasonous Thugs… wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn’t, because I came along.”
Trump argued that Biden wasn’t the one pushing open borders or issuing controversial pardons, claiming it was “the people who knew he was cognitively impaired” and who had “taken over the Autopen.”
The Path Ahead: Will Congress Investigate?
With Burchett’s allegation now public, the question becomes whether House Republicans will launch an official investigation into the legitimacy of Biden’s pardons, potential FARA violations, and the chain of custody behind autopen decisions in the White House.
If true, the scandal could trigger a constitutional crisis and criminal referrals — particularly if financial records show money changing hands in exchange for clemency.
As Burchett warned:
“Something horrible may happen to some of those people, because it goes up the chain.”
