GOP SWEEPS THE FIELD: 5th Straight Victory Leaves Dems Defeated and Demoralized at Nationals Park
The scoreboard told the story: Republicans 13, Democrats 2 — a punishing blowout in front of 30,000 roaring fans at Nationals Park during the annual Congressional Baseball Game.
The GOP didn’t just win. They humiliated.
With a red-hot lineup and airtight defense, the Republican team dominated every inning, showcasing not only athletic superiority but an unrelenting spirit that’s become the new norm on the diamond — and in Washington. Their latest landslide victory cements a five-year winning streak, making the all-time series 47–42 in favor of the GOP.
“Another GOP VICTORY at the annual Congressional baseball game—with more than 30,000 tickets sold and $2.8 million raised for charity!” celebrated Speaker Mike Johnson on X.
Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) took home MVP honors after a show-stopping diving catch in the first inning that electrified the stadium and sparked a momentum surge for the GOP. It was all downhill from there for the Democrats.
The game broke wide open in the fourth inning, when the Republicans piled on five runs, expanding a modest lead into an insurmountable one. By the time Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) cracked a two-run double in the fifth — capping it off with a Trump-style celebration — it was a runaway.
Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) made history as the game’s first female player, entering as a pinch runner and scoring a run to close out the rout.
This year’s lopsided 13–2 win follows a brutal trend for Democrats:
-
2021: 13–12
-
2022: 10–0
-
2023: 16–6
-
2024: 31–11
-
2025: 13–2
The message from the Republican dugout was clear:
Whether in the halls of Congress or on the field — the GOP knows how to win.
