“Shortsighted and Unsustainable”? RINO Thom Tillis Attacks Trump’s Historic Push to Slash Prescription Drug Costs

Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) is under fire from conservatives across the country after publicly rebuking President Trump’s Most Favored Nation (MFN) executive order, which aims to slash prescription drug prices by up to 80% by tying U.S. drug costs to the lower rates paid abroad.

In a heated Senate hearing on Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and Drug Pricing, Tillis dismissed the Trump-led reform as “shortsighted” and “unsustainable,” sparking outrage among grassroots Republicans already fed up with GOP elites protecting Big Pharma over working families.

“It’s not the what, but we’ve got a very wide range of how,” Tillis argued—sidestepping real solutions while echoing corporate talking points.

A New Challenger Enters the Ring

In response, Don Brown, a former U.S. Navy JAG officer, conservative author, and constitutional attorney, has officially announced his 2026 primary challenge against Tillis—calling him out as a D.C. insider and RINO sellout.

“Tillis has lost touch with the people of North Carolina,” Brown said. “He’s protecting lobbyists and pharmaceutical profits, not patients. It’s time for bold America First leadership in the Senate.”

The announcement immediately energized Trump-aligned voters eager to purge weak Republicans and replace them with candidates who support America First economics and healthcare affordability.

GOP Leadership Wavers

Tillis isn’t alone in his backpedaling. Senate Majority Leader John Thune also warned that Trump’s executive order would be “fairly controversial” if codified into law. Despite acknowledging Trump’s passion for lowering drug prices, Thune and other establishment Republicans continue to oppose legislative action—revealing how deep the grip of Big Pharma still runs in Washington.

“Thune and other [Republican] leaders have long opposed price-fixing efforts,” reported Punchbowl News—a subtle but clear admission that even soaring prescription costs aren’t enough to break their allegiance to the pharmaceutical lobby.

The People vs. The Swamp

While everyday Americans are being crushed by the cost of insulin, cancer meds, and life-saving prescriptions, establishment Republicans like Tillis and Thune are too busy shielding corporate monopolies to support Trump’s game-changing drug pricing reform.

It’s not just bad policy—it’s betrayal.

Time to Clean House

The 2026 primary is shaping up to be a referendum on the soul of the Republican Party in North Carolina. With Don Brown now officially in the race, Tillis faces a reckoning from the very voters he’s abandoned.

Grassroots Republicans are ready to send a message: Sellouts won’t survive. We want America First, not Pharma First.

Tillis must go—and Don Brown is ready to take his place.
