In yet another brazen act of leftist political violence, a 33-year-old Florida woman viciously attacked a 72-year-old Trump supporter simply for wearing a MAGA hat—and then proceeded to assault a police officer during her arrest. Shockingly, she was released from jail less than 24 hours later, sparking renewed outrage over America’s two-tiered justice system.
The Attack: MAGA Hat Sparks Leftist Fury
The assault took place Tuesday at Northeast Park and Paw Place in Largo, Florida, where Laura Elizabeth Garrett approached an elderly man and began interrogating him about his support for President Donald Trump. When the conversation escalated, Garrett reportedly smacked the man with a can and poured its contents on his head in an unprovoked attack.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 13 Tampa Bay, Garrett then fled the scene by jumping over a fence. She later admitted to police that she confronted the man and doused him with liquid, though she denied striking him. Witness accounts and the victim’s statement suggest otherwise.
Second Assault: Police Officer Injured
The violence didn’t end there. As Largo police attempted to detain Garrett and escort her to their patrol vehicles, she wrapped her legs around one of the officers, causing him to fall and suffer a bruised knee. Garrett then resisted arrest, kicking and pulling away before officers finally restrained her.
She was charged with:
-
Battery on a person 65 years or older
-
Battery on a law enforcement officer
-
Resisting an officer without violence
The Release: Justice Denied?
Despite the violent nature of her actions, Garrett was released from Pinellas County Jail just one day later. No clear reason has been given for her release, raising serious questions about accountability, double standards, and public safety.
Would a Trump supporter who assaulted an elderly Biden voter and a cop be released so swiftly?
Political Violence Escalates — Media Remains Silent
This is just the latest in a growing pattern of left-wing political aggression targeting Trump supporters, elderly conservatives, and law enforcement officers. Yet the mainstream media continues to downplay these attacks, treating them as isolated incidents rather than part of a broader pattern of radicalization on the left.
Where is the Outrage?
If the roles had been reversed, this story would be leading every national broadcast. Instead, an elderly American was assaulted for expressing political beliefs, a police officer was injured in the line of duty—and the perpetrator walked free in less than 24 hours.
This isn’t just a crime—it’s a symptom of a country in crisis.
