Trump Slams “Out of Control” Judiciary After Judge Orders 8 Dangerous Illegal Immigrants Remain in U.S. Custody in Africa
WASHINGTON, D.C. – MAY 23, 2025 – President Donald Trump delivered a blistering rebuke of U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, a Biden-appointed federal judge, after Murphy blocked the deportation of eight violent criminal aliens and ordered they remain in U.S. custody—despite already being en route to South Sudan.
Trump said that the Biden judge’s decision has forced the U.S. government to detain these criminals in Djibouti, leaving behind high-value ICE agents overseas, unable to return home and protect Americans.
“A Federal Judge in Boston, who knew absolutely nothing about the situation… has ordered that EIGHT of the most violent criminals on Earth curtail their journey to South Sudan,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“This is not the premise under which I was elected President, which was to PROTECT our Nation. The Judges are absolutely out of control… this must change, IMMEDIATELY!”
What Sparked the Showdown?
Earlier this week, Judge Murphy ruled that the Trump DOJ violated his court order by attempting to deport several dangerous illegal aliens, many with violent criminal records, to South Sudan—a country which, according to the court, they are not citizens of and may be at risk in.
Some of the deportees are reportedly from Laos, Vietnam, Cuba, and the Philippines, and immigration attorneys claimed that relocating them to South Sudan would violate their right to “meaningful” due process.
Murphy then ordered the Trump administration to:
-
Conduct “reasonable fear” interviews
-
Provide interpreters and legal counsel
-
Keep the aliens under DHS custody or control
-
File weekly status reports on each individual
-
Treat them as if they were within U.S. borders despite being overseas
Trump: “The World Is Watching”
Trump warned that if this judicial interference continues, the U.S. will once again be overrun by criminal illegal aliens:
“If this is not worked out quickly, and the world is watching, our Country will be under siege again—with hundreds of thousands of hardened criminals breaking down the walls,” he said.
He also criticized the judge for removing ICE agents from their posts in America just to babysit foreign criminals in Africa.
“We were also forced to leave behind… a large number of ICE Officers, who would otherwise be in the United States, protecting our Citizens,” Trump noted.
Political and National Security Implications
The clash marks one of the most explosive standoffs yet between the Trump DOJ and activist federal judges, with Trump supporters citing this case as proof that left-wing judges are undermining national sovereignty and endangering public safety.
Legal analysts say the case could go to the Supreme Court, especially if Judge Murphy continues to assert jurisdiction over foreign deportation logistics—a potential expansion of judicial power with global consequences.
Bottom Line
This is no longer a routine immigration case. It’s a constitutional confrontation between the executive branch’s authority to enforce immigration law and a judiciary increasingly willing to override deportations and dictate foreign policy.
Trump’s message is clear:
“This is a national security crisis—created not by migrants, but by radical judges.”
And unless the Supreme Court intervenes soon, more deportations could be delayed, ICE agents could be stranded overseas, and violent criminals could stay tethered to U.S. custody—at taxpayer expense.
The rule of law—and the safety of Americans—is now on the line.
