Karoline Leavitt Offers Prayer Before Press Briefing, Bringing Faith and Confidence to the White House Podium

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a moment rarely captured on camera, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was seen offering a heartfelt prayer before stepping into the Brady Briefing Room for Friday’s press conference, underscoring the youthful official’s blend of poise, faith, and tenacity that has quickly become her hallmark.

The video, posted to X by Special Assistant to the President Margo Martin, showed the 27-year-old Leavitt surrounded by staff, eyes closed and hands full of briefing notes as she prayed aloud:

“Lord Jesus, please give us the strength, the knowledge, the ability to articulate our words, and have fun and be confident. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The brief clip immediately drew praise from supporters online, celebrating Leavitt’s willingness to bring her faith into the workplace and lead with grace before addressing the nation’s press corps.

A Press Secretary With Style, Substance, and Spirit

Leavitt, the youngest person ever to hold the role of White House Press Secretary, has rapidly earned respect—even from adversaries in the media—for her sharp grasp of policy, unflappable demeanor, and unapologetic defense of President Trump’s America First agenda.

Despite regular clashes with legacy media outlets, she has transformed the administration’s relationship with the press through a combination of confidence and clarity, often interspersed with moments of levity.

One such example came just hours after the prayer, when Leavitt was asked about a viral clip of Fox News reporter Peter Doocy being dive-bombed by a bird during a live shot. With a smile, Leavitt quipped that “the bird may have been a Biden voter.”

From the Trail to the Podium

Leavitt began her political career in the press shop of President Trump’s first administration and went on to serve as press secretary for his 2024 campaign. She briefly stepped away from public duties for maternity leave in mid-2024 but famously returned to the campaign trail within days of the assassination attempt on President Trump in July, describing the moment as a personal call to action.

Now, as one of the youngest and most prominent voices in the administration, Leavitt has become a symbol of both resilience and renewal in the post-Biden political era.

While critics may bristle at her faith-forward approach, supporters say Leavitt embodies the spirit of a new conservative generation—principled, prayerful, and proudly unapologetic.

As one staffer put it following the viral video, “That’s not just a press secretary. That’s a leader.”
