“DOGE Derangement Syndrome”? Former Freddie Mac Tech Worker Arrested After Bomb Threat Livestream

A disturbing new development has emerged as federal reforms under President Donald Trump spark increasingly erratic—and potentially dangerous—responses from those resistant to change. In what some are calling a new strain of Trump Derangement Syndrome, dubbed “DOGE Derangement Syndrome,” a former government contractor was arrested this week after reportedly threatening to bomb Freddie Mac in a bizarre livestream.

Arrest After Threats Against Freddie Mac

According to an exclusive report from the Daily Mail, Maria Del Carmen Lozano, a former technology worker at Freddie Mac, allegedly livestreamed herself driving to the federal housing lender’s office in McLean, Virginia, on Tuesday. In the footage, a voice—believed to be Lozano’s—can be heard saying:

“I’m about to blow everything up in Freddie Mac right now… This is real, not fake.”

She then continues, alleging:

“We have hacked the brain using artificial intelligence.”

The rambling video also included incoherent references to brain hacking, investment schemes, and apparent delusions involving conversations with individuals who were not present—raising concerns about her mental state.

Arrested, Then Released

Fairfax County Police arrested Lozano later that day during a traffic stop, issuing warrants for bomb threats and trespassing. She was not found to have entered the building or exited her car but had driven around the facility while streaming live.

Despite the severity of the threats, Lozano was released on Thursday, prompting new concerns when she reportedly resumed her delusional online behavior and allegedly called Freddie Mac demanding to speak with Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte.

“She appears misguided, delusional, and dangerous,” an unnamed source told the Daily Mail.

Was It About the Layoffs?

While Lozano was not one of the 200 employees laid off in recent weeks by Pulte—a Trump appointee leading aggressive cuts at the agency—her meltdown appears to be linked to the larger restructuring efforts initiated by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The White House has signaled a dramatic downsizing of 22 federal agencies as part of President Trump’s broader plan to streamline the federal workforce, reduce waste, and restore accountability in bloated bureaucracies.

DOGE has become a central player in this transformation, and critics—some of them former federal employees—have grown increasingly hostile, even vandalizing Tesla vehicles and targeting Elon Musk-related businesses, given his leadership role within DOGE.

But Lozano’s outburst appears to mark a disturbing escalation in these tensions.

What Is “DOGE Derangement Syndrome”?

Much like Trump Derangement Syndrome became a shorthand for irrational, unhinged opposition to the former—and now current—president, “DOGE Derangement Syndrome” may be emerging as a new cultural phenomenon, as entrenched bureaucrats and activist sympathizers lash out at the Department of Government Efficiency’s radical push to eliminate fraud, waste, and political manipulation in federal systems.

While satirical in tone, the term reflects a serious challenge: public safety risks from disillusioned, ideologically motivated individuals unwilling to accept reforms—or election results.

“It’s bad enough that Tesla owners have their cars keyed and dealerships targeted,” one official noted. “But bomb threats? That’s a new level of terror.”

DOJ and FBI Monitoring

The FBI is reportedly monitoring the situation, though it has not confirmed whether Lozano will face federal charges. It is unclear whether mental health evaluations are being pursued, but many have questioned why someone making direct threats against a federal facility was released so quickly.

The Bigger Picture

The Trump administration’s reforms are triggering strong reactions, particularly as layoffs continue across a bloated federal government. But security experts and administration officials alike are urging Americans not to let political grievances escalate into threats or violence.

As the Department of Government Efficiency presses forward with its historic mandate, ensuring the safety of government workers, agency officials, and the public must be a top priority.

President Trump, Director Bill Pulte, and Elon Musk have all emphasized that reform must go hand-in-hand with public safety—and that includes responding firmly to any act of political intimidation, real or threatened.

Bottom Line: This incident highlights the growing emotional volatility among certain individuals who see their influence and job security threatened by sweeping government reforms. But no amount of protest—violent or otherwise—will reverse the will of the voters or stop what has already begun.
